As a part of the DuPage P.A.D.S. (Public Action to
Deliver Shelter) network, Redeemer serves as an interim
overnight shelter site for the homeless of DuPage County
every Saturday night from May through September. Redeemer
congregation members, neighbors and other local
organizations and church congregations staff the shelter.
Redeemer members also assist Community Presbyterian Church
in Clarendon Hills in its similar role from October through
April.
P.A.D.S. is recognized in DuPage County for providing safe
and hospitable shelter, transitional housing and
supportive services for people who are homeless, in a
setting that encourages responsibility and enables the
transition to independence and self-sufficiency. It also
works to advocate against barriers that cause homelessness
and educate the community.
The P.A.D.S. office is located at 705 W. Liberty Drive in
Wheaton, IL, 630- 682-3846. The P.A.D.S.' web site iswww.dupagepads.org.
